Royal Navy United Services Ground

The Royal Navy United Services Ground is a historic sports venue on Burnaby Road in Portsmouth, serving as the home of Royal Navy Sport across multiple disciplines.

The Royal Navy United Services Ground needed large format graphics that could promote the venue clearly and confidently to everyone who passed by on the surrounding streets.

We designed a set of large graphics lining the full boundary of the United Services Ground, covering Burnaby Road, Park Road, Cambridge Road and Anglesea Road in Portsmouth. The graphics were designed to work at scale, bold and legible from a distance while carrying the identity of Royal Navy Sport with the authority the venue deserves.

Designing for large format is a very different discipline to regular print work. Scale, viewing distance, material behaviour and installation all have to be considered from the very first layout decision. We have extensive experience producing large format graphics across signage, building banners, site hoardings, window graphics and wall graphics, and that experience shaped every decision made on this project. Production and installation were handled by our partners at GTMS.
