Northwood HQ

Northwood HQ is a joint services military headquarters serving the Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force, for whom we were commissioned to completely transform the large graphics throughout their sports centre.

Northwood HQ needed a complete visual overhaul of their sports centre, replacing the existing graphics with a new dynamic scheme that reflected the energy of the facility and the breadth of the joint services it serves.

Every element of the design was hand drawn, depicting the various sports and fitness areas across all three services in a bold, illustrative style that brought real character and energy to the space. The project began with a full site survey and detailed discussions to understand the spaces, the audiences and the brief, followed by weeks of design work before moving into high-quality production and full installation on site.

Full environment, from entrance to sports hall

The graphics were designed to flow through the entire building, creating a cohesive visual experience from the moment someone arrived to the furthest reaches of the facility.

Starting with a dramatic entrance graphic, the design carried through the entrance foyer, main corridor, stairwell and into the spinning suite and large sports hall. Each space received its own treatment, connected by the same hand-drawn style throughout. The result was a sports centre that felt purposeful, dynamic and worthy of the institution it serves.
