MONstore Self Storage
MONstore is a family-run self storage business based in Scotland, offering drive-up containers with 24-hour access and full CCTV coverage across five locations in Aberdeen, Buckie, Dundee, Elgin and Stirling.
We originally designed the MONstore logo and brand identity back in 2019, creating Big Barry, a hand-drawn friendly monster character who became the face of the business and a central part of everything the brand produced.
Barry appears throughout the brand in different poses and contexts, from the website to signage across all five sites. Each location has its own colour-coded version of Barry, with his jumper colour changing to distinguish one site from another while keeping the overall character and identity unmistakably MONstore. It is a creative solution that makes a multi-site business feel both cohesive and locally rooted at the same time.
Website redesign and consolidation
Over time, the original MONstore website had been duplicated into four separate sites to cover each location, which worked well at the time but created an increasingly complex structure to manage. When the business was ready for a refresh, the opportunity was taken to bring everything together under one well-structured site.
We designed and built a new bespoke website that incorporated all five locations into a single, user-friendly platform, with clear booking instructions and location-specific content for each site. Barry appears throughout with his location-colour jumper, keeping the experience fun and consistent wherever a visitor lands. The result is a site that is easier to manage, clearer for the customer and every bit as characterful as the brand it represents.
